THE INSTRUCTORS
Dr. W. Glenn Steele is a William L. Giles Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Mississippi State University (MSU). He received his Ph.D. from North Carolina State University and has experience at Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory. He served as head of the MSU ME Department from 1990 to 2008 and also in other administrative roles including Interim Dean of Engineering, Interim Vice President for Research and Economic Development, Interim Provost and Academic Vice President, and as director of two university research centers. He currently serves as chair of the ASME PTC19.1 Committee “Test Uncertainty,” is a member and former chair of the SAE E-33C Committee “Propulsion Measurement Uncertainty.” He also served as a member of the ASME V&V 20 Committee and the ASME Performance Test Codes Standards Committee, which oversees the development of codes and other documents dealing with test procedures and the evaluation of systems and simulation models. He was awarded the ASME Performance Test Codes Medal in 2014. He is a Fellow of ASME and an Associate Fellow of AIAA. He currently is active as a consultant.
Dr. M. H. Hosni is the Charles and Nona Frankenhoff Chair in Engineering at Kansas State University (KSU) and is Professor and Director of the University Engineering Alliance at KSU. He received his Ph.D. from Mississippi State University and joined the faculty in mechanical engineering at Kansas State in 1991. In 1993 he assumed a leadership role as the director of the Institute for Environmental Research (IER), a multidisciplinary research center at Kansas State, where he was responsible for development of research programs in human thermal comfort and indoor air distribution. He served as the director of IER until 2001 when he was named department head of mechanical and nuclear engineering (MNE). After serving eight years as the MNE department head, he was appointed as the director of the University Engineering Alliance. Dr. Hosni served as the ASME Vice President for Education and a member of the Council on Standards and Certification. He is also active at ASHRAE and served as the Chair of Technical Committees TC4.10 and TC5.3. Dr. Hosni is the Vice Chair of Operations for the ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission. Dr. Hosni is a Fellow of ABET, ASME and ASHRAE.
